Seven Stud Strategies
These are some of my strategies for a seven card stud game. These strategies are based on both experience, books, and other websites - so it should give you a pretty broad sense of how to play.
| Playable Hands | Play | |||||
| Trips | Slowplay trips until 5th street, except Aces or Kings | |||||
| A-A | Raise on 3rd street, unless you are in early position and there are 2 higher cards than your pair. Exception if 2 other high cards match each other | |||||
| K-K | ||||||
| Q-Q | ||||||
| J-J | ||||||
| 10-10 | ||||||
| 9-9 | Fold on 3rd street, unless your side card is the biggest card showing. If your pair is concealed, and your up card is the highest on the board, raise. If no help by 5th street, fold | |||||
| 8-8 | ||||||
| 7-7 | ||||||
| 6-6 | ||||||
| 5-5 | ||||||
| 4-4 | ||||||
| 3-3 | ||||||
| 2-2 | ||||||
| Three to a Flush | Fold low, non-consecutive cards, but call with no raise in late position. Two big cards, call up to two raises. Two or three big cards, with big card up, raise to conceal hand. | |||||
| Three to a Straight | Fold low cards, only call with premium cards. Fold if no help on fourth street. | |||||
